Sennheiser launch new live mic range at 26th PLASA

Sennheiser UK exhibited its extensive portfolio of market leading brands at the 26th PLASA show at London’s Earls Court between September 7-10 2003.
The event also included several Sennheiser UK product launches and the announcement of an exclusive distribution agreement with US manufacturer Rane Corporation.
Expanding its Evolution brand, Sennheiser launched the top-of-the-range 900 series, featuring a newly developed high performance capsule suited to professional live stage applications. Neumann’s innovative new TLM 127, a switchable pattern mid-price studio condenser mic was also unveiled, alongside Adamson’s powerful Y-axis line array and a first European appearance for the company’s SPEKTRIX line array, an all-new lightweight, compact, bi-amped acoustic 3-way system.
D.A.S. Audio’s new, cost effective and lightweight CA 28 / CA 215 line array and versatile Dynamics Series passive and powered sound reinforcement systems were shown for the first time. The world class power amplification of Lab.gruppen’s Iron Power and Ferrite Power ranges were also on display, as were new products from the APart installation brand and Sennheiser’s SDC conferencing system.
New products from Rane included additions to the RPM family of digital signal processors with new Drag Net software, analogue-controlled digital audio processing EQ, crossover and IEM processing products for the live touring sector and the market leading DJ mixer range, headed up by the Grandmaster Flash/Rane designed Empath touring/club mixer.
Building on the success of previous year’s PLASA shows, the 2003 Sennheiser stand also had a considerably larger footprint to accommodate the expanding range of Sennheiser proprietary and distributed brands and visitors were encouraged to get closer to the gear with the help of Sennheiser’s product specialists and various manufacturers’ representatives.
