Studio Scotland Thriller To Screen At Cannes

News Image
Studio Scotland's latest film, The Daniel CONNECTION (15), is to screen at the Cannes Film Festival.

The movie is an apocalyptic thriller based on the TV documentary 'The Daniel Project' that was originally picked up by Fox, Nat Geo, History Channel, Sky, Netflix and others a couple of years ago.

The feature stars Caroline Goodall (The Dressmaker, Cold Light of Day, Schindler's List) and Gray O'Brien (Coronation Street, Titanic-Blood & Steel). It is also the latest project for newcomer, Californian-born, Morgan Carberry.

The Daniel CONNECTION, which had a special preview screening in Edinburgh last year, was filmed in Scotland on RED in 4K and has received much acclaim for director Stewart Menelaws' cinematography. With a story line that encompasses the New World Order, UFOs, prophecies and a missing key, it leads to a chilling end because it's based on documented facts.

Producer and co-writer Deborah Forrest signed a deal with distributor California Pictures, based at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, at the Cannes Film Festival last year and fingers are crossed for them making sales at the same festival this year.

The production was supported by Film Export UK and FifeScreen+TayScreen and the trailer can be viewed at www.thedanielconnection.tv/trailer.
