PROVYS Reporting Saves the Day...

News Image
Provys, the leading designer of programme planning and media management software solutions, is pleased to report that you can now look forward to a professional life with less reporting and more time available for those key objectives and priorities, writes CMO Martin Junek.

Never before have media programming managers, controllers and senior staff been faced with such a myriad of requests for regular, repetitive, ad-hoc, and sometimes unnecessary reports, all of them oriented upon satisfying the egos, ambitions and occasional analytical requirements of top management and shareholders. But seriously, though, we all would like to spend our precious time more effectively and efficiently, concentrating on better resource management and media exploitation, whilst acknowledging the need for accurate and timely reporting.

There are many ways to create a report. Using a software package built on a robust relational database which gathers all necessary metadata puts you in an advantageous situation. You can generate your charts, pivot tables or list views based on standard templates and this may sufficiently cover all the requirements. The standard Provys TVoffice software package is accompanied by a set of standardised printed reports that can be always customised and extended. The administration toolkit includes a report generator and a report editor with an access to all data stored and administered by the system database. The generated reports can be visualised using individual screens or displayed as a part of the client application (so-called dockable reports). They can be printed or stored as a file too. The printed report graphics editor is a tool completely integrated into the environment of the Provys database. The report definition export and versioning storage is supported for a continuous report development and enhancement.

But the business life in a media company has never been easy and the corporate management would sooner or later ask for dynamic on-line reports that would combine information from different sources or even different databases, such as financial systems, archives or production networks. Then Provys Reporting Studio offers a real benefit with aggregated and detailed information based on data operated and stored in multiple and heterogeneous databases. The Reporting Studio is an autonomous software solution that provides the best analytical and presentation tools and satisfies the requirements of management teams at all levels on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.

And what happens when the media company does not allocate any internal capacity for the reporting implementation and administration? To this end, Provys are delighted to announce a new revolutionary concept designed to take the reporting tasks off your desks, outsourcing them to Provys’s new on-line reporting service.

How does it work? Very simply, Provys utilises its unique knowledge of each individual client’s data, such as cost per programme (in-house or acquired), audience market share, click-through rates, website traffic, advertising revenues, as-ran-logs, product placement incomes etc. and maintains a continually updated range of that, well-designed reports which clients can download as required from a dedicated secure website. Provys uses its deep knowledge and experience of the broadcasting and general media sectors to bring you this time-saving, stress-relieving, and accurate reporting tool. Interested clients can try this service free of charge for an initial period, transferring to a subscription basis when they are fully satisfied.

More sophisticated clients will be able to request bespoke modifications to standard formats according to their specific needs. Josef Vasica, CEO PROVYS, comments: "We fully expect this new service to be only the first step in a long line of future products and services, creating a comprehensive ecosystem based on state-of-the-art technologies and designed to improve our clients’ operations and profitability whilst reducing stress, effort, time losses, etc., amongst their staff."

Looking at the whole Provys menu, this reporting service appears to be the icing on the cake. The designers use various ingredients and tools to create a cake that reflects the characteristics of a modern media company; strategic planning and budgeting; management of acquired rights; MAM; production projects; advertisement sales campaigns and integration with accounting, playout, and media storage. In addition to these most popular ingredients, VOD, OTT and other seasonings have not been omitted. By all means, Provys reporting remains not only the icing on the cake. It makes corporate performance stronger and managers’ lives easier and more enjoyable.
