QuVIS announce plans for IBC

QuVIS are poised to demonstrate that latest advances in digital cinema technology at IBC2003.
For the fifth consecutive year, QuVIS will provide digital cinema servers and support for the IBC programme. QuVIS will also participate in the IBC Exhibition (Hall 7, Stand 800), demonstrating the newest post-production capabilities of the QuBit ST and introducing the new QuBit DS display server.
QuVIS will début new hardware and software at IBC and demonstrate efficient solutions for digital intermediate work through 4K. The QuBit Shared Storage (QSS) system allows the sharing of content among multiple QuBits within a post-production workflow without the physical transportation of digital media. QSS provides a format independent platform for standard definition, high definition and beyond with an upgrade path to 4K - an ideal platform for incremental introduction of a data based (tapeless) workflow.
Capitalizing on the elegance and efficiency of QuVIS' QPE compression, QSS is the only practical post-production platform for long format digital intermediate work. "Many of our customers have hundreds of hours of film sourced material accumulated during the months a feature is in production." says Jim Graham, QuVIS' vice president for sales and marketing. "QuBit allows scanning and manipulation of those data sets in a traditional work flow environment. The difference lies in 'non-linearizing' the work flow and storing and transporting the data efficiently while work is in process."
