Next generation animation from Ark VFX

A new breed of production house has launched in the UK.
A collaboration of five internationally renowned artists, Ark VFX specialises in producing the highest quality pre-production and animation services to the games, advertising and entertainment industries.
The founders - Stephen Tappin, Andy Turner, Richard Wright, Greg Staples and Trevor Hairsine – are all well known artists in their own right and came together through a mutual and long held desire to create a company that could focus their combined talents. Spiderman, Captain America and Judge Dredd are just three of the famous comic book characters that members of the team have been responsible for drawing over the years.
With a skill base including computer generated imagery (CGI), concept design, matte painting, 3D animation, production art and print media, the company’s strength lies in the ability of its team of highly talented concept designers and post production artists.
Prior to the creation of Ark, the team had already designed the look of various high profile computer games such as Loaded for Gremlin and the forthcoming Argonaut racing game Powerdrome.
More recently, the team produced the intro movies for the BAFTA nominated cult space game series I-War, the sound design for which has been universally acclaimed.
"The movies were unique in that they were structured like big films with a start, middle and end", explained Andy Turner, Co-Founder. "We did a lot of the very complicated storytelling, character development and animation that other games companies weren’t able to do."
