News Image
The free seminar programme at BVE 2015 is packed with industry leaders who will inspire and inform about all aspects of content creation and delivery.

The wide-ranging programme, totalling over 120 hours of presentations, covers the latest production issues and technological trends as well as exploring the connected world and multi-platform content, with speakers from organisations including Raindance Film Festival, BBC, Sky, Viacom and Fremantle Media.

BVE 2015 takes place from 24-26 February 2015 at ExCeL London and registration is now open.

The Producers' Theatre covers topics ranging from production planning and development to business advice. A new feature in this theatre is 'Live! Ammunition!' – a chance to pitch ideas for a movie to a panel moderated by Elliott Grove, Founder, Raindance Film Festival and British Independent Film Awards. This is a live competition open to anyone with £5 in their pocket, competitors must convince the panel to watch their film or read their screenplay, and the panel will confer and pick a winner for the best pitch. The winner takes the pot, but more importantly the competitors and audience will pick up valuable tips on pitching.

The Producers' Theatre also features a panel including Vasha Wallace, Senior Vice President of Global Acquisitions and Development, Fremantle Media and Alan Griffiths, CEO, World Media Rights looks at ‘The most valuable formats in the UK’ and how to translate them for international audiences. Tom Brisley, Co-Creative Director, Arrow Media and Debbie Manners, Managing Director, Keo Films lead a panel on how to stand out against the ‘super-indies’, while Christopher Hird, Founder and Managing Director, Dartmouth Films provides ‘Funding guidance for documentary filmmakers.

The Production Theatre will present a broad range of fascinating discussions, ranging from conception to distribution. BVE's highly popular Commissioning sessions make a welcome return with advice from commissioners from Sky and Channel 5 about what they are looking for in drama, entertainment and factual. A panel discussion moderated by Margy Kinmonth, Producer-Director, Foxtrot Films looks at 'The pro's and cons of self-shooting', while Elisar Cabrera, Web Fest Producer, Raindance Film Festival, moderates a panel discussion on 'Making web series that work'. 'The challenges and solutions of extreme shooting' brings together a highly experienced panel including Dan Etheridge, Director of Photography (The Island with Bear Grylls, Wild Weekends with Stephen Fry) and Phil Coates, Director and Cameraman (Everest Beyond The Limit, Blizzard Race to The Pole). In addition, award-winning Location Manager Sue Quinn (Edge of Tomorrow, Love Actually) gives her '101' of things to remember when scouting locations.

In the Cinematography and Lighting Theatre, Tim Palmer, BSC (The Suspicions of Mr Whicher, Gangsta Granny) will discuss 'How to overcome scheduling restrictions in delivering high end productions', while DOP Jonathan Harrison will lead a panel of industry specialists in a discussion on the practical issues and implications of 'Brands bringing their productions in-house'.
