Korean state broadcaster install SSL K Series console

KBS, the Korean State broadcaster, have chosen a Solid State Logic XL 9000 K Series console to replace the Neve VR console in their prestigious KBS Concert Hall in Seoul.
Located within the main KBS TV and radio complex, the KBS Concert Hall is a prestigious venue that is regularly used to record and transmit classical, rock, jazz and traditional Korean music concerts for both radio and TV. The 80-frame (64 fitted) console, pre-wired to accept up to 24 SuperPre microphone inputs, is housed in the main control room at the rear of the concert hall. Since its installation earlier this month it has been used for both live recording and mixing and will ultimately produce material for broadcast and for subsequent CD release.
KBS chose the XL 9000 K Series because it offered 5.1 capabilities and has a worldwide reputation for sonic excellence.
Initial projects will be recorded in stereo but KBS plans to record in 5.1 over coming months.
