AV Specialist launch Middle East edition
Over the last decade AV Specialist has established itself as the premier magazine for the film, television and video production markets in Africa.
The magazine is a past winner of the Sappi PICA award for publishing and journalistic excellence and is recognised around the world as one of the most authoritative industry journals around.
In January 2004 AV Specialist will be launching a new regional version of the magazine to cover the Middle East and North Africa. This new version will be published out of Dubai Media City by AV Specialist MENA FZ LLC and will be based on the same successful formula as the South African publication. Content will be drawn from the Middle East and North African market and will cover the film, broadcast and production markets, pro-audio as well as corporate AV, staging and live events. The bulk of content will be published in English with a summary of selected feature articles in Arabic.
“The first issue of the publication will be published in January 2004 and will be circulated at both the CABSAT and PALME shows taking place in Dubai during February,” said AV Specialist publisher Kevan Jones. “In addition, we have acquired the mailing list previously used for the distribution of MEBS (Middle East Broadcast & Satellite) and previous subscribers to MEBS will receive copies of the new publication – which will be distributed alt-monthly. Working in collaboration with local vendors throughout the region, distribution will also be expanded to better cover the corporate video and professional AV markets. AV Specialist is recognised as one of the most interesting and best read broadcast technology magazines published anywhere in the world with a specific focus on the African market and our new regional version will bring those same values to the Middle East market.”
