Televisa install 12 Kaleido-K2 multi-image display processors

Miranda Technologies have announced that Grupo Televisa, Mexico's leading TV broadcaster, have installed 12 Miranda Kaleido-K2 multi-image display processors in a new state-of-the-art facility.
The new facility, which includes the Kaleido systems, is designed to extend the company’s capabilities in the area of worldwide news distribution.
Working in conjunction with San Antonio-based, Digital Broadcast Equipment (DBE) and its sister company, Excelencia en Comunicaciones in Mexico City, Televisa has incorporated the Kaleido-K2 systems plus nearly 200 of Miranda’s Imaging Series infrastructure interfacing and distribution modules into the cutting-edge news centre at the company’s Mexico City headquarters. Televisa engineers will use their new Kaleido-K2 systems with 84- and 100-inch Synelec LiteMaster video display cubes to allow easy monitoring of all incoming and outgoing signals.
“We selected Miranda’s Kaleido-K2 after extensive evaluation against other brands in the market,” said Elias Perales Rodriguez, Director of Operations and Engineering at Televisa Headquarters Facility in Chapultepec Avenue in Mexico City. “We found it to have a very high image quality, as well as great flexibility and redundancy in a user-friendly system that is easy to use and configure. We’ve been very happy with it.”
The Kaleido-K2 high-resolution (1600 x1200), multi-image display processor enables operators to perform multi-step monitoring of multiple video and audio signals effortlessly as they pass from master control to transmission.
When different signal monitoring layouts are required, the Kaleido-K2’s preset layout configurations allow instant reconfiguration of the monitoring display. The highly robust Kaleido-K2 can accept up to 32 HD-SDI, SD, Composite, RGBHV, and streaming video inputs, as well as up to 48 stereo analogue or AES audio inputs. In addition to traditional video and audio monitoring, the processor can also monitor other key parameters including VBI and MPEG-2 status, source identifiers and tallies, time of day, and external equipment status.
