Goldwater to make IBC2003 D-Cinema keynote address

Confirmation that DCI's Chuck Goldwater will give the keynote speech at the D-Cinema conference in Amsterdam, has been hailed as another endorsement that this will be an essential event for anyone interested in the future of the cinema industry.
IBC's D-Cinema conference on Monday 15th September is the centrepiece of four days of D-Cinema action at this IBC. The weekend sees a full programme of demonstrations and screenings by leading manufacturers in the RAI Auditorium, which will be transformed into a state of the art digital cinema. D-Cinema and associated screenings occupies all of Monday with the EDCF (European Digital Cinema Forum) Open Meeting on Tuesday morning. Full details of all these events can be found at www.ibc.org.
The conference will cover all aspects of the D-Cinema world but particular attention is being paid to the business formula and removing the obstacles delaying its development.
David Wood, Producer of the conference for IBC says; "This conference aims to be of benefit to anyone involved in the cinema industry or interested in alternative applications of the technology. We have specifically addressed the business challenges from different perspectives whilst making sure that delegates are fully informed about the latest technical developments."
Other confirmed participants from the USA include Wendy Aylsworth of Warner Brothers, John Fithian from NATO (National Association of Theater Owners) James Mathers of Filmakers, Tim Harader from Microsoft, Roland Brown of the Moving Picture Company and Rod Sterling of the JVC ILA Technology Group.
The conference will also benefit from two highly experienced American session chairmen in the persons of Brian McKernan of the renowned Digital Cinema Magazine and Tom McMahon of Dolby Research.
The series of events builds on the success of the D-Cinema event at IBC2002 and establishes these dates as a 'must attend' event for those involved in the cinema business.
It also appeals to anyone interested in the options the technology will provide for displaying alternative content and for the film making process. For those just interested in the technology and seeing some stunning images, there will be no better chance to do so this year.
