Accom select Omnitek for R&D work

Test and measurement manufacturer OmniTek have announced that highly regarded, US-based equipment manufacturer Accom have purchased and installed OmniTek's innovative test and measurement solution for use in their Engineering Lab.
The company has purchased OmniLab, an integrated tool suite comprising OmniGen - a multi-format digital test signal generator with full-motion sequence playout capability - and OmniView - the advanced multi-format digital waveform monitor and signal analyser package. OmniTek's US distributor MPro oversaw the deal.
Accom is an internationally recognised innovator in the broadcast television and digital video markets. Widely known for its digital disk recording and editing technologies, including the Abekas product range, the OmniLab system is an advanced, PC-based, programmable test and measurement platform that is invaluable for general video laboratory work. The capability to play out full-motion test sequences led Accom to select it for evaluating video compression codecs, core to the company's ongoing product development programme.
Ian Craven, Accom's Senior Vice President of Engineering, explained: "Previously we didn't have a clean source of complex test images with motion for evaluating system designs in our lab. The OmniLab also provides the ability to test embedded audio systems in HD."
