Penn Elcom Announces New Partnership

News Image
Penn Elcom, Pro Audio Stash and CLD Distribution, has signed a partnership with industry charity Entertainment Workshops (EW).

Entertainment Workshops are set to produce a catalogue of product functionality videos accessible to customers via QR codes and website links. This partnership not only supports the charity with a guaranteed financial income over at least the next two years but more importantly provides real-life, hands-on experience for students to work on projects being used in our industry today.
Entertainment Workshops provides an alternative education programme for young people who benefit from a kinaesthetic learning style. The charity provides the students with opportunities to gain Arts Awards and BTEC’s in areas such as stage, sound and light and creative media. The charity aims to uniquely provide a pathway to work for students using industry contacts and partnerships.
The contract was negotiated following a visit to the EW facilities by the Penn Elcom senior management team. The purpose was to identify ways in which the educational set up and its students could assist in the marketing of the companies' products.
Penn Elcom's GM, Rob Platt, explained: "The cataloguing is a big undertaking and something we'd probably have otherwise carried out in house – though maybe with less professional results, so it's a relief to be undertaking this project with Entertainment Workshops.
"We were so impressed with how hard everyone was working at the charity – including the students themselves – that we had to support their tremendous efforts and it’s an honour to be helping an organisation that’s trying to help other people in terms of education and hands-on experience. For us it was just a no brainer, really."
The product videos will be created at the Entertainment Workshops' facilities in Rye Harbour, Sussex. Extended across 9000 sq.ft., the premises boast a cycloramic green screen studio, a photography suite and a recording studio. The students will be working on the product videos as part of their courses overseen by operations manager, Paul Byrne.
