Equator Technologies and Microsoft team up for NAB

At NAB booth L9507, Equator Technologies will show off Microsoft Windows Media Video encoding and decoding solutions – including support for next generation of Windows Media, will be available on Equator's BSP platform.
At a press conference on Sunday April 7, Equator and Microsoft highlighted how the solution will transform DVD, VOD and advanced consumer media devices to deliver high definition video-breaking through the limitations of other compression technologies.
Equator and Microsoft also introduced Sarnoff's MPEG-4 encoder support of Equator's BSP platform to provide high-quality video across a wide range of resolutions and bit rates, while conforming to open international standards.
The Sarnoff MPEG-4 encoder utilises patented techniques in fast-motion estimation, adaptive rate control, dynamic bit allocation, optimised quantity and compression-optimised pre-filtering.
Equator Technologies are an industry leader in producing video streaming engines and platforms. The company's family of Broadband Signal Processor chips are fully functional, software-programmable system-on-a-chip solutions designed for the development of platforms for demanding video applications.
