75th anniversary year for Westcott

After a successful NAB conference and 75th birthday celebrations, Westcott – a market leader in a complete line of light control equipment for professional image-makers – have announced improvements to their range of products.
The company offers a full array of light control umbrellas, flags and scrims, light stands, gear bags and accessories for industry professionals. Westcott’s main product lines such as Halo light modifiers, Apollo light modifiers, the Scrim Jim reflector panel system, the Westcott Box, Video Boxes, Collapsible Illuminator Reflectors have received much interest of late.
The Halo light modifier line includes the Halo Mono and the Ed Pierce Signature Edition Halo - and the Apollo light modifier line includes models with no frame support between the light and the diffuser. These models include the Recessed-Front Apollo, Apollo Mono, JS Apollo, Apollo RL3, and two smaller versions - the Mini Apollo and the Micro Apollo.
The Run & Gun is one of Westcott’s newest products for the film and video market and is available in two sizes. It is constructed of a double-layered clear heat-shield material on the front panel that also works as a pocket to hold gels. No separate ring is required as the ring is permanently attached to the unit on one side and has two quick release knobs on the other side. As with other Westcott products, the Run & Gun is quick and portable and sets up in less than 10 seconds.
Westcott have added several new boxes to its product line. The FV2K is available in three sizes and is made of two heat-resistant materials that comprise the shell, yet it remains lightweight and compact.
Other improved products include, the Strip Bank, the Illuminator reflectors, Flags and Scrims and the collapsible Illuminator Backgrounds.
Westcott is the worldwide manufacturer and marketer of Scrim Jim, a modular diffusion and reflection system. The Scrim Jim frame consists of lightweight anodised aircraft aluminium tubing and fabric which is fastened by hook and loop tape. Frames and fabrics are sold separately and in kits.
