Creative Skillset Praised For LGBT Commitment
Creative Skillset has risen 20 places in Stonewall's top 100 list of LGBT-friendly employers.
Stonewall is a leading advocate and resource for the UK's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
A gala event was held on 15 January attended by the UK organisations being recognised for their "active commitment to inclusion and diversity in employing staff irrespective of their sexual orientation".
Creative Skillset has been part of the top one hundred for the last five years and was placed this year in the top 50, ranking 41st on the Workplace Equality Index 2014.
The Workplace Equality Index includes global brands like Barclays, American Express, Accenture, Price Waterhouse Coopers and public sector organisations like the Home Office, Ministry of Defence and Metropolitan Police.
Jo Welch, Diversity and Inclusion Manager for Creative Skillset said: "It is important to us not only to be progressive and forward-thinking in our approach to diversity and inclusion but to evidence the action we take to address inequality and under-representation. This year, setting up InterMedia and achieving 41st place shows just what a small company can do to effect positive change."
Ben Summerskill, Stonewall Chief Executive said: "Every single employer in the Top 100 has performed remarkably this year as competition for a place on the list of gay-friendly employers has never been fiercer. This commitment from organisations - across 38 different industries - is changing the face of workplaces for the better for all staff – regardless."
