Framestore CFC pencilled in for top award

Framestore CFC artists have once more been recognised at the highest level, with Xbox 'Mosquito' achieving a Silver Award at the annual D&AD Awards.
The award was in the 'TV and Cinema Advertising Crafts: Special Effects' category, and Andrew Daffy (CG Supervisor) and William Bartlett (Inferno Supervisor) accepted the award on behalf of the Framestore CFC team.
Now in their fifth decade, the D&AD (Design and Art Direction) Awards, familiarly known as the Yellow Pencils, set the international benchmark for the very best in design, advertising and creative communication. 21,500 entries from 55 countries were whittled down to a shortlist of 143 nominations. 53 yellow pencils were finally awarded at this year's ceremony.
Another Xbox commercial created with the Framestore CFC team, 'Champagne', was also nominated for the Special Effects award, as well as the award for 'Best Cinema Commercial', which it went on to win. 'Mosquito' and 'Champagne' have already received recognition for animation and special effects at both this year's LEAF and BTAA Craft Awards.
