Lipsync beam up new Star Trek DVD commercial

Soho-based company, Lipsync Post have completed a 30-second television spot for Paramount Pictures' launch of 'Star Trek-The Next Generation', a seven-DVD boxed set containing 25 classic episodes from the show's first season.
All the elements of the new commercial, from the original design and storyboard, to the 3D animation and composting and 5.1 surround sound mixing, were produced at Lipsync's Wardour Street facility in London.
Lipsync's Graphics Department were challenged to create a look that resonated with the trademark 'Star Trek' style, but which was much more than merely a series of shots from the original production. They achieved this by animating elements from the DVD menu screens as a means of carrying the footage, creating a virtual universe that is finally swallowed up within the DVD packaging.
The Lipsync Post's Graphics Department is no stranger to high-profile theatrical and broadcast production, with its full complement of 2D and 3D software. The facility can also provide all the graphics, video and audio technology and craft skills under one roof.
