Decode Adds 'Revolutionary' Rig And 4K Black Magic
Wimbledon-based equipment hire firm Decode has announced the acquisition of a new "revolutionary" rig and a Black Magic 4K Camera as part of its portfolio upgrade.
The group is now supplying the MoVI M10. A statement in Decode's newsletter said: "Not only does it eliminate the need for a trained SteadiCam operator, you can also capture longer, bolder, more complicated camera movements that DoP’s could only dream about in the past."
The rig holds a payload limit of 4.5KG and offers control by an operator via gimbal base or remote control.
It features translation compensation, live wireless tuning & graphing, updatable remote firmware, a silent drive and a user-adjustable shaky cam.
The Black Magic Production Camera 4K has also been added to Decode's catalogue.
The camera features a global shutter and Super 35mm size sensor and can record 4K images in native ProRes 422.
It also includes internal SSD cards and a built-in touchscreen.
A statement from Decode added: "The Black Magic Production Camera 4K creates visually lossless compressed CinemaDNG RAW and ProRes 422 (HQ) files that are perfect for editing and grading with the software tools you already own."
