Panasonic To Showcase AK-HC3500A At IBC

News Image
Panasonic will be bringing the new AK-HC3500A broadcast studio camera to this year's IBC convention.
The new AK-HC3500A incorporates a 2/3 type 2.2 million pixel IT-3CCD for high sensitivity of F10 at 1080/59.94i and F11 at 1080/50i. The camera features 60dB S/N, and the newly developed 16-bit A/D (RGB)-attached internal processing 38-bit DSP (Digital Signal Processor).
It features DRS (Dynamic Range Stretch) functions as well as scene file settings and various picture quality adjustment functions. The AK-HC3500A newly features 1080/29.97P and 1080/23.98P or 25P signal capability plus Cine Gamma (Film-like 1/2/3, Video-Rec, Film-Rec) standard, with five modes selectable.
The studio camera options combine the AK-HCU355A CCU (Camera Control Unit) with the AK-HRP935A ROP (Remote Operation Panel).
High-quality non-compressed HD signals can be sent via fiber-optic cable up to two kilometres between the camera and the CCU. The CCU AK-HCU355A supports 4 line return signals (HD / SD SDI) and 2 line intercom input, and can supply power to the camera.
"The low-cost AK-HC3800 and the revamped AK-HC3500A offer greater picture quality with the latest 16-bit A/D-attached DSP, allowing us to meet the needs of the diverse users of Panasonic's studio camera systems," said Kunihiko Miyagi, the director of Panasonic's Imaging Business Division.
"In the future we will expand our lineup of remote camera systems and switchers, and strengthen camera portability to provide more convenient live video production solutions."
The AK-HC3500A will be available in September 2013 and on display at IBC2013, to be held at the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre from 13 – 17 September 2013.
