BBC OBs celebrate 'Best Sound Factual' BAFTA

BBC Outside Broadcasts scooped the award for 'Best Sound Factual' for coverage of the Queen's Golden Jubilee at the recent BAFTA Television Craft Awards.
BBC Outside Broadcasts were also nominated in the same category for their coverage of the Queen Mother's Funeral.
As the biggest event in BBC Outside Broadcasts' history, The Golden Jubilee took nine months in planning, and involved in excess of 100 sound staff working from multiple locations including the main site at Canada Gate as well as Buckingham Palace, from which the Proms and the Party were transmitted.
Remote OBs also provided live feeds from places such as St Paul's Cathedral, Aldwych and Slough and a total of 350 audio circuits in and out of the scanner of Canada Gate were used.
In addition, much of the whole weekend's programming was controlled from the Canada Gate site.
