Audio-Technica At Abbey Road...

Audio-Technica has recently been promoting its flagship vocal microphone – the four diaphragm condenser AT5040 – at a special event at Abbey Road studios that drew an audience from across the UK, France and Germany.
An Evening With The AT5040 (held on 30 May) allowed Audio-Technica customers, trade press and an invited group of producers and engineers to learn about the design principles behind the microphone, all from the setting of one of the most famous recording studios in the world.
The AT5040 was demonstrated by producer Steve Levine and upcoming singer/songwriter Natalie McCool (pictured) and Liam Cromby and Alfie Scully (We Are The Ocean), fresh from an appearance at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
Visitors were treated to short acoustic sets from the artists through Studio Three’s 96 channel SSL 9000 J Series console.
Audio-Technica pro audio marketing manager Tom Harrold said: "Abbey Road was the perfect location to showcase the AT5040 and demonstrate it to a discerning audience of industry professionals. We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response to the microphone and the chance to show its capabilities with artists as talented – and different – as Natalie, Liam and Alfie was one that we welcomed and visitors found very useful."
