Lumidium to demo DigiRostrum at The Production Show
A British software company Lumidium is demonstrating DigiRostrum for the first time at The Production Show.
According to Lumidium, the software rostrum camera, DigiRostrum, promises to revolutionise rostrum work by allowing anyone with a PC to do it.
This powerful application turns a PC into a fully functioning rostrum camera. The user can track, zoom or rotate the virtual camera across high definition image files to create broadcast quality video files.
DigiRostrum is a highly versatile postproduction tool developed by industry professionals and will fit into many different production routes. From rendering in native QuickTime codecs on a top end on-line suite, to recording straight to DV tape via Firewire on a home editing system. Work can even be off-lined on a laptop and the results saved in DigiRostrum's own path file format for later use in the edit.
The duo behind DigiRostrum are television professionals Paul Harter and Terry Tyldesley who have based their new company in East London.
Harter has worked as a freelance editor in film and television for the last 15 years and has extensive experience at the BBC as well as with several of the UK's top independent production companies.
Tyldesley, a journalist, television producer and director with sixteen years’ experience. She won a Royal Television Society award in 2002 as Producer and Director of the year's best current affairs programme, and was nominated for a BAFTA. She has produced high profile programmes for the BBC and Channel 4 and knows exactly what is necessary to create television of the highest quality.
Rather than a traditional rigid "timeline" DigiRostrum has unique, sophisticated and intuitive path controls for designing camera movements. This includes full 3D control of camera position allowing shifts of perspective.
Designed for both ease of use and the greatest versatility DigiRostrum allows position, camera, tilt and zoom controls to be keyframed separately and provides fully adjustable Bezier controls for all acceleration and deceleration. These controls are designed to meet the needs of both demanding industry professionals, who require the fullest and most flexible set of controls, and the home enthusiast who needs to be able to use it straight out of the box.
