Filmlab choose Phantasia Automation System

Filmlab are installing a Phantasia Automation System (PAS) for the completion of their new digital playout centre in Central London.
The new playout centre is located in Convent Garden, close to the centre of London’s media, film and television district. Filmlab will offer 24-7 playout facilities to broadcasters and channel providers, utilising the proven PAS automation system.
Chris Brazier, Managing Director of Filmlab, said: “We selected Phantasia Broadcast from other suppliers because of their reputation in the industry and their automation system could be tailored to our exact requirements.
"Our customers therefore can expand their business at the time of their choosing at incremental cost. Phantasia broadcast also has a 24 X 7 professional support service that was exactly what we were looking for our customers.
"The Filmlab service that we offer to our customers will be robust, well-supported and fully redundant by our selection of Phantasia Broadcast.”
Filmlab has many years experience with supplying the film and broadcast industry with first-rate production facilities. The company is therefore ideally placed to provide playout facilities that offer fast-turnaround times to its customers and to provide a comprehensive and expandable range of services.
Launched in 2002, the Phantasia (PAS) system is a totally scalable automation solution. It allows users to build multi-channel platforms in a competitive and modular way. With a sophisticated user interface and high-end automation functionality, the PAS system is ideal for single or multi-channel operations. The system can be rolled out effortlessly across more channels as required utilising the PAS modular open architecture.
Phantasia Broadcast will provide support throughout the initial installation of the media centre and ongoing operational support on commencement of services planned for launch in July 2003.
