Phantasia Broadcast show latest in automation

Phantasia Broadcast, specialists in digital automation systems for broadcasters of single or multiple television channels, are to demonstrate the very latest features of the Phantasia Automation System (PAS) at IBC 2003.
PAS new features include a new sub-title controller environment has been developed which includes the ability to gather all required schedule and event status information from the existing PAS Clip Player application in association with the PAS database utilising all existing protocols / data links. The new sub-title controller is responsible for all content administration and generation of status information for the external subtitle playout system.
The existing PAS Clip Player application has been extended to include a new, VBI based (White-pulse), regional opt-out facility. Up to six regional event triggers can be embedded into the SDI bit-stream within the server environment (manual or automatic). Remote hardware decoders recover the triggers from the SDI stream and can be preconfigured to activate the regional hardware environment.
A new stand-alone file conversion application has been developed which provides the facility to convert industry standard TGA image files (single or batch) into full-frame MPEG2 equivalents, converted files can be played individually or as a simple multiframe sequence.
The PAS ClipPlayer (embedded) digital audio environment has been extended to manage up to eight mono channels of multilingual audio, simultaneously (four stereo); this capability has also been further enhanced to include support for, server based, concurrent mono or stereo voice-overs.
PAS is a totally scalable play out solution, which allows users to build multi-channel platforms using a scalable modular architectural design.
Operating costs are kept to a minimum as the components are based on industry standard software components.
PAS allows easy access to windows based user-interface applications, utilised throughout the system. The PAS operator is re-assured by the regular accessibility of important information such as alarms, status reports and monitoring data.
PAS is also capable of supporting internal real-time video effects, logo insertion and local voice-over facilities and can easily be integrated with third-party technology providing important ancillary services such as subtitling and other important metadata.
