SSL XL Superpre Mic System selected by Grammy winner

On a quest to find the best microphone preamplifier to record Fuel’s latest project, producer Michael Beinhorn and multiple Grammy Award-winner Frank Filipetti were very pleased to discover the unsurpassed audio quality of the Solid State Logic XL SuperPre SuperAnalogue Remote Signal Acquisition microphone preamp system.
The SuperPre system provided the excellent sonic response needed for the cutting edge guitar tracks on the project recorded at Chalice Recording Studios.
“We listened to a wide variety of microphone preamps because we were recording guitars and we wanted to find the best ones for the job,” explained Michael Beinhorn. “We were very fortunate to get the SSL SuperPre’s to try them. Out of all the microphone preamps that we tried, the results were definitely a revelation. We found that the SSL’s were simply superior. The response was faster than everything else and the detail on them was really spectacular to the point that the artist was actually able to notice the improvement over their experience with other gear.”
The SSL XL SuperPre remote preamplifier system is available as a component of SSL’s XL 9000 Series SuperAnalogue console, but is also available as a stand-alone unit for all production environments. The entire design is scalable up to 24 inputs through the use of modular cards, each of which provide 4 inputs. When used with the XL 9000 K Series, the system integrates seamlessly with the console’s automation system. With stand-alone applications for integration between any console or production environment, the optional SuperPre Remote is used to provide control over parameter settings, and an optional XLR breakout panel can be used for external interfacing.
