Broadcast Technology appoint technical sales specialist

Responding to continuing expansion in its UK and international business, Broadcast Technology has appointed Andy Phillips as technical sales specialist.
Phillips, who will report to the director of sales and marketing, Ken Chalmers, brings 14 years of broadcast industry experience. He joined Grass Valley in 1988 as a service engineer, advancing to customer support and product engineering before becoming a router products specialist. In 1993 he was recruited by Philips Broadcast Television Systems where he became project engineer for MPEG-2 compression coders.
In 1996 he progressed to NDS as a programme manager, staying for two years before joining Leitch as business development manager for server-based products. He moved to Harmonic in 2000 as a pre-sales engineering consultant supporting sales organisations in Europe/Middle-East/Africa and providing marketing input to Harmonic's California headquarters.
