FOR-A is presenting its latest products at SATIS 2012
Products on show feature the new FT-ONE full 4K super slow-motion camera as well as the most recent innovations and additions to the company’s range of vision mixers, multi-viewers, file-based solutions, signal processors and character generators.
FT-ONE - Full 4K super slow-motion camera
For those seeking higher image resolution the new award-winning FT-ONE is the world’s first full 4K super slow-motion camera. With a FOR-A originally developed high-sensitivity CMOS colour sensor, it captures images at up to 900fps, and replays 4096x2160 film-look ‘super slomo’ video. The global shutter ensures capturing split-second movement in detail and without shutter distortion.
FT-ONE stores its raw uncompressed images to the internal 9.4-second RAM. This data is then stored on one of two hot-swappable SSD cartridges. Each cartridge can store 84 seconds of full 4K images, enabling up to 168 seconds with the maximum of two SSD cartridges. The FT-ONE can simultaneously record and playback in 4K. Two outputs are presented as 4K via four 1080p HD-SDI outputs, and two down-converted HD-SDI versions for live viewing and the control menu.
HVS-390HS 1 / 2 M/E vision mixer
The HVS-390HS is the latest of FOR-A’s popular range of compact, cost-effective vision mixers. Available in 1 M/E and 2 M/E versions, it includes 16 HD/SD-SDI inputs and eight outputs (expandable to 24 inputs and 13 outputs), with frame synchronizers for all inputs. Built-in resizing engines on four inputs allow mixing HD, SD, and PC sources. Two chroma keyers and four keyers per M/E are standard. All keyers have 2.5D DVE and there are two 3D DVEs (for background and keyer) for each M/E. The mixer includes stores for up to four channels of 60 video frames (expandable 120 frames) and up to 100 events.
FA-9500 video processor
The FA-9500 is THE PROCESSOR! It is a 3G/HD/SD multi-purpose signal processor is packed with features, including up/down/cross/aspect converters, a second converter, colour correction and automatic video optimiser as standard features. Two channels of HD/SD-SDI and one channel of analogue composite video I/O are standard, expandable to five channels. The SDI outputs can be synchronised. Packed into a 1RU box and with front-panel graphic displays this is the must-have one-stop signal processor.
FRC-30 compact high quality frame-rate conversion
FOR-A has transformed the high-quality frame-rate conversion market by mapping its motion compensation technology onto a single modular card, the UFM-30FRC, which is the major component of the FRC-30 that delivers high-quality HD, SD, NTSC and PAL up, down, cross and frame-rate conversion, at a variety of frame rates, in a half-width 1RU unit. The same UFM-30FRC cards fitted in a 3RU UFM modular rack frame can provide up to 11 channels of the same high-quality conversion.
LTR-100HS archive recorder
Developed as a part of FOR-A’s on-going programme of file-based workflow solutions, the LTR-100HS is a stand-alone video archiving recorder that bridges SDI video and LTO-5 file-based storage with an easy-to-use one-box solution. Housed in a half-width 3RU unit it includes an LCD video monitor, 2 terabytes of hard disc storage, VTR-style controls and an LTO-5 data cassette deck along with HD/SD-SDI video and audio connections. It records up to 50 hours of MPEG-2 video at up to 50 Mbps onto compact (102.0 x 105.4 x 21.5 mm) 1.5-terabyte LTO-5 cassettes using Linear Tape File System (LTFS). This enables reading and writing files on PCs as ordinary external storage, and is widely supported by the IT industry.
MBP-100 Series MXF clip server and baseband converter
Aimed at file-based production the MBP-100SX is one of a range of compact (1RU) video clip servers. It is equipped with an HD/SD-SDI input and output and a solid-state drive, selectable between 16, 64, and 128GB, for storage. It can record and play MXF files compatible with Sony XDCAM/XDCAM HD/XDCAM HD422 or Panasonic P2/P2 HD equipment. Clips can be transferred or saved over Gigabit Ethernet. Highly versatile and reliable, this server can be used in a variety of applications including ingest, playback and even programme playout, using a playout system.
MV-3200 3G/HD/SD/analogue/PC mixed high resolution multi viewer
The MV-3200 series multi viewers offer a multi-monitor display to suit your system. Selecting and installing the required input and output cards on the 2RU rack frame, up to 4 input and 2 output cards can provide a multi viewer with up to 32 inputs and 4 outputs. Mixed input formats are supported including 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI, analogue composite and DVI (analogue and digital) signals. There is flexibility such as showing up to 32 video windows for each output card, audio monitoring, and up to four clocks per card.
