NI Facility Monitors Outputs With Volicon

Industry specialist, Volicon has announced that BBC Northern Ireland has upgraded its facilities with an Observer Enterprise video monitoring and logging system.
The facility has deployed the Volicon Observer system over three different servers at the Belfast facilities to record a total of six SD channels.
With a simple browser-based interface, the Observer system provides personnel with a straightforward and convenient solution for compliance monitoring.
The Observer Enterprise provides a comprehensive range of video content monitoring, logging and compliance workflows for television station groups and broadcast networks. The Volicon system is a fully redundant, enterprise-grade, 24 x 7 automated record and search appliance, with intuitive features that can save valuable time and resources.
In addition to recording the mandatory 90 days of aired content, the BBC facility in Belfast uses the Observer system's frame-accurate clipping tools and direct export and transcoding capability to deliver clips, both internally and externally, for review as Microsoft Windows Media files. Because the Volicon system supports user management via LDAP/Active Directory, the facility will be able to tie the system into its corporate IT environment.
