Gefen's splitter and distribution amplifier augment HD visuals

When one high definition video display is insufficient, Gefen’s ex-tend-it HDMI Splitter outputs two video signals from a single video input.
An effective solution for supplying two displays with HD data in multiple resolutions up to 1080p, Gefen’s HDMI Splitter works with video sources and displays that utilize DVI (digital video interface) or HDMI (high definition multimedia interface) to connect to each other with cable.
For more complex applications such as video walls, Gefen’s 2:8 HDTV Distribution Amplifier sends the same high definition video source to eight displays at the same time. An added-value feature of this unit is its ability to accept two source inputs and switch between them. When both inputs are connected, the 2:8 HDTV DA can automatically switch to the other input when the first one ends. Another bonus is its ability to support display extension up to 100 meters from the source. Long distance extension would require the use of an appropriate extension product, such as Gefen’s DVI Repeater, HDTV Extender or the DVI or HDMI-1000 HD Extender plus fibre optic cables, available in varied lengths from Gefen.
The 2:8 HDTV Distribution Amplifier can also be stacked with up to six additional units, enabling one video source to drive more than 50 high definition displays simultaneously. It supports multiple resolutions up to 1080p and works with DVI-equipped sources and displays. The unit can also be used with HDMI (high definition multimedia interface) devices when combined with an inexpensive HDMI to DVI Adapter from Gefen.
Both the HDMI Splitter and the 2:8 HDTV Distribution Amplifier are HDCP (high-bandwidth digital content protection) compliant - a critical piece of functionality necessary when combining high definition video sources and displays. Without HDCP enabled, video is relegated to very low resolutions, often causing image quality to suffer.
