AJA Video Systems ship RH10MD Downconverter
AJA Video System's first High Definition rack mount module - the RH10MD HD Downconverter/Re-clocking Distribution Amplifier - has begun shipping to National Mobile Television (NMT).
NMT purchased more than 300 units of the new converter, all for use in their new high-definition mobile unit, HD4.
The RH10MD is a plug-in board for the AJA model FR1 (1RU - 4 slot) or FR2 (2RU - 10 slot) rack mount chassis. It accepts either an HD-SDI or SDI input and has four DA outputs and four monitoring outputs. The DA outputs are four equalised and reclocked versions of the input.
The four monitoring outputs are SD only outputs that can be individually “jumpered” between SDI and analogue. When configured for analogue, the format can be selected via dipswitch between component and composite.
Four channels of embedded audio are passed through to the output.
