Scriptwriting course receives Skillset funding
Lighthouse have been awarded support from the Skillset Investment Fund to run a new course on writing drama for television.
The course provides an opportunity for six writers to take part in a series of practical workshops to learn, then apply, a range of skills and techniques for developing quality drama for the small screen.
During the course, each participant will write a 50-minute episode of a fully formatted original drama series with the support and guidance of tutor Philip Palmer, an experienced writer and script editor.
There will be seven workshop days spread over a period of four months and writers will be expected to meet deadlines for treatments, storylines and drafts between sessions.
The submitted applications and the final draft scripts will be read and assessed by television drama executives who are currently involved in developing new work.
The deadline for applications is 5pm Wednesday April 23 2003.
