Vimond To Power RiksTV's OTT Service Content

Vimond Media Solutions announced today that RiksTV, the largest digital terrestrial television (DTT) operator in Norway, will deploy the Vimond Media Platform and associated Vimond Professional Services to distribute on-demand content to Norwegian audiences over the Internet as a supplement to regular DTT transmissions.
The RiksTV service will mark the first time a DTT operator can deliver over-the-top (OTT) content in Norway, and it will allow the operator to catch up to other cable and satellite TV operators that already offer OTT content.
RiksTV will launch a hybrid DTT- and OTT-capable set-top box to deliver high-quality supplementary content over the Internet and will use the Vimond Media Platform to manage the complex workflows for distributing live and on-demand content. Vimond Professional Services will also be provided to integrate and support the platform.
