Sgo And Hp Power The Entertainment Industry At Cannes 2012

HP, Official Partner of the Cannes Film Festival 2012, and also one of SGO's chief Technology Partners, is holding a series of Mistika workshops, along with other HP technology partners, in the HP Lounge at Hotel Majestic Barrierre this month in Cannes.
At the heart of movie-making and revolutionising the rapid turnaround of audio visual effects in productions, HP technologies, together with one of its key partners, SGO, will demonstrate through workshops how its pioneering workstations technology is powering the film industry. Sessions directed at film industry press will include SGO’s award-winning Mistika technology in action, with discussions of some of the latest trends in special effects, animation and Stereo 3D.
The 30-minute sessions will take place in the HP Lounge at the Hotel Majestic Barrierre in Cannes from 
24 – 25 May 2012 with timings as follows:
Thursday 24th May: 10am – midday; & 2pm-4pm and
Friday 25th May: 10am – midday; & 2pm-4pm.
SGO's Mistika uses HP's platforms in order to achieve real-time editing grading and compositing. HP Z800 Workstations are frequently used to accelerate Stereo 3D post production workflows in Mistika projects. The Mistika post production system is the cornerstone of many facilities and broadcasters across the globe, providing creative tools for 2D and highly-developed stereoscopic 3D workflows, which boasts real-time visual effects, colour grading, graphics, text, painting and multi-format mastering. Mistika is being used in many high profile world-class film productions and was also used in the BAFTA award-winning Flying Monsters 3D with David Attenborough film produced by Atlantic Productions, delivering various formats including 3D IMAX at ONSIGHT. Combining Mistika technology with HP’s hardware performance, ensured that the project was delivered to the highest quality and on time.
