New Network module links fibre services

Network Electronics have brought to the marketplace the new award winning Flashlink MR-TR-D multi bit-rate converter and transponder module.
Flashlink is used for simple point-to-point broadcast applications and advanced optical networking.
MR-TR-D supplies high-performance media conversion for various signal formats from 19.4Mbps up to 1485Mbps. Either configured as Electrical-to-Optical converter, or as an Optical-to-Optical Transponder, the unit provides unmatched signal accuracy, even in critical applications with pathological video patterns or DVB-ASI K28.5 stuffing characters.
MR-TR-D uses only wavelengths in accordance with the ITU-T G.692 recommendation, allowing easy interoperability with third party fibre optical systems.
MR-TR-D builds a bridge between the established SDH/SONET services and new services by providing both on one single fibre strand. The multi-rate converter and transponder enables carriers to benefit from new services and revenue without investing in a new fibre infrastructure.
Launched officially at NAB 2002, Flashlink's MR-TR-D was recognized for excellence with a NAB 2002 Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit award. Although thousands of products are evaluated at the convention, MR-TR-D was one of only 20 are acknowledged with the Pick Hit.
