Sony F65 CineAlta Camera Makes Its European Debut
Sony Professional has today revealed that the first consignment of F65 CineAlta cameras into Europe will be shipped this week, with Sony specialist UK dealers CVP and Top-Teks receiving their first units.
Since its launch last year, the F65 has generated phenomenal interest with around 400 cameras pre-ordered globally. With a new 8K CMOS image sensor, with approximately 20 total megapixels, and 16-bit Linear RAW File output capability, the F65 creates the gateway to an end-to-end 4K file-based mastering workflow.
"Sony was committed to bringing the F65 CineAlta camera to market before the spring shooting season began,"commented Dave Cheesman, UK Media Channel Manager at Sony Professional Solutions Europe.
"The fact we have already received such a high volume of orders is a testament the F65’s outstanding performance and superb value for money. Clearly the industry has gained a significant appetite for 4K technology and we are proud that dealers such as CVP and Top-Teks have chosen to work with us."
Phil Baxter, CEO of CVP group said: "The F65 is the most exciting camera to emerge from Sony over the last ten years and as such we’ve already received substantial interest and many advanced orders. Like us, our clients recognise that the F65's outstanding 4K image quality combined with CVP's engineering investment and total commitment to customer support will provide them with the unparalleled ownership experience the highest echelon of Digital Cinematography production deserves."
Mike Thomas, Sales Director of Top-Teks, added: "The launch of the F65 signals a new era in digital cinematography and as such we’ve invested heavily to ensure we can deliver Sony’s state of the art camera alongside Top-Tek’s trademark top quality service."
Alongside development of the F65, Sony has also established an alliance partnership with over 20 companies for integration of F65 production workflow, and over the coming months will be working with CVP and Top-Teks to demonstrate the full capabilities of this camera and its true 4K workflow to customers across the UK.
