BBC To Air 'That's Britain'

The BBC is about to put Julia Bradbury and Nick Knowles in a new That's Britain! four-part series for BBC One.
It will attempt to investigate and find solutions for those irritating issues in everyday life that really wind us up.
Broadcast live from the studio each week, they will be aided by a regular team of strand presenters - Ade Edmondson, Stanley Johnson and Grainne Seoige as well as celebrity guest reporters.
Regular features include ‘The Insider’ where each week Ade Edmondson, will go behind the scenes of the systems that keep Britain working - from international luggage to electricity, Ade will profile the amazing technology employed to make them work.
Tackling those burning consumer issues that get us annoyed - from train overcrowding to junk mail, Grainne Seoige will try and find solutions to these problems and more in 'Grainne Sorts It Out'.
In 'Best of British', Stanley Johnson highlights that contrary to popular belief the British have great public spirit. Using a series of hidden camera stunts he will see how far someone will go to help a stranger, particularly when one small favour escalates into something much bigger.
Other features include the observational documentary ‘Bin Cops’ which will follow people working at the tough end of our public services, from street cleaning to rubbish collectors.
‘Hidden Heroes’ will champion those whose job it is to keep Britain on track - but who never get the credit they deserve such as the people who monitor and test our tap water and those who transport blood around the UK.
Whilst the ‘How Hard Can It Be Challenge’ will see presenters performing the jobs that we really love to moan about - from airport check-in services, to white van drivers, mini-cab controllers and beyond.
‘Bring Back’ will see celebs testing services that used to exist but for various reasons have disappeared such as milkmen and petrol pump attendants. They will investigate whether life would be better if we brought them back - is it the little things in life that make a difference?
Alison Kirkham Commissioning Editor, said: "That’s Britain! is a funny, warm-hearted show about the day-to-day irritants in modern Britain that really drive us mad.
"Looking at different issues each week it aims to unpack why some things aren't as straightforward as we might hope, and to give a humorous voice to viewers frustrations.”
