Innotek and Connectix to consolidate software integration

Connectix, the market-leading provider of Intel-based virtualisation software and InnoTek Systemberatung GmbH, a leading European software developer and consulting company, have announced a support partnership for their customers.
The move will see the firms consolidate users owning multiple PCs running diverse Intel-based OSes on Connectix’s Virtual PC for Windows.
Under the agreement, InnoTek will develop custom software and provide other integration services necessary to help customers manage heterogeneous environments, including the integration of OS/2, Windows and Linux platforms.

"By partnering with Connectix, the leader in virtual computing technology, we are delivering a solution that provides customers with the seamless integration of Windows and OS/2 that they have been demanding."
Connectix also announced Virtual PC for Windows with OS/2 Additions, a virtual machine solution to run IBM’s OS/2 and Microsoft Windows simultaneously on the same PC.
Based on Connectix’s patent-pending virtualisation technology, Virtual PC for Windows with OS/2 Additions lets users create "virtual machines" on top of a Microsoft Windows operating system into which a user can install OS/2, other versions of Windows, Linux, Solaris, NetWare or any Intel-compatible operating system.
Each virtual machine emulates a complete hardware system – from processor to network card – in a self-contained, isolated software environment, enabling the simultaneous operation of otherwise incompatible systems.
Virtual PC for Windows with OS/2 Additions enables users to run Windows and OS/2 applications simultaneously, providing seamless integration and interoperability between files running on the Windows host and OS/2 guest operating systems.
