DataVideo’s DV Bank now shipping from Holdan
Holdan have announced that Datavideo’s DN-100 Native DV Hard Drive recorder is now shipping.
The DV Bank is the industry standard, stand-alone solution that allows video professionals to capture Digital Video (DV) content directly from Digital Camcorders, VTR’s or mixers, to a high performance disk drive-based system during shooting (live), or any time afterwards.
Smarter and easier than ordinary computer interfaced drives: The DV Bank is an advanced hard drive video recorder/editor with a sophisticated interface capability and its own processor to look after the drive, giving your computer less to do and therefore less down time: Simple and dependable VTR-style controls located on the front panel, and a highly readable LCD that clearly shows mode, time code and file information ensures the DV Bank is very easy to use and integrates seamlessly with any existing studio and location equipment.
The DV Bank can be managed from a Mac or PC just like your Fire Wire DV Camcorder using PC and MAC software that supports the industry standard AV/C command set. When the DV Bank is connected to a computer it is seen as a DV device, not a hard drive: giving you the advantages of a tape recorder, but with instant access to any point, loop, segment playback etc. With its 60 Gigabyte hard disc drive the DN-100 provides an impressive 4.5 hours of loss-less quality DV storage time.
The DV Bank is compatible with most video systems (it takes a DV signal in and out). The unit is Portable (runs off 12v, can be used on location). Instant ON (no waiting for computer boot up / close down) and has its own propriety filing system specially designed for large video and audio files and no 4GB file size limitation.
The DV Bank helps simplify the production process and logistics. Users can shoot a new scene while the editor is cutting the previous scene and can transfer DV files easily, freeing up valuable time for more important tasks and users can bookmark the best takes for quicker, non-linear editing back at your post production facility.
