Celador's Breeze Wins Bath Radio Bid

Celador has won the licence to run a commercial station in Bath.
Another application was from Nova Radio Bath, which would have been run by Weston-super-Mare-based Triple West Radio Invest, as a sister station to the resort's Nova Radio station.
Celador, which already runs stations in Bristol and on the south coast beat both that one and one from a consortium of city industry figures - to take the licence currently held by One Gold, broadcasting as Total Star.
When the licence expires in November, it will be taken over by Celador's The Breeze brand, regulator Ofcom has decided.
The decision is a blow to 107.9 Radio Bath, which was co-ordinated by former GWR boss Simon Cooper, who lives in the city.
One Gold did not apply for the 107.9 FM licence, and it plans to rebrand its output in Bath and Wiltshire as More FM.
A spokeswoman for Celador said: "We are delighted to have been awarded the re-advertised FM local commercial radio licence for Bath.
"There was stiff competition from two other highly successful operations with a well proven track record in radio. They submitted excellent applications and we are extremely pleased to have been awarded the licence against such strong competition.
"We are looking forward to delivering a great radio station which the Bath community can be proud of."
Ofcom said the new station could launch earlier than November if it could reach agreement with the current licensee and the licence is for seven years.

Celador is a global light entertainment company originally formed as an independent production company in 1983.
It has produced a number of popular light entertainment shows but is best known for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and co-producing the film Slumdog Millionaire which collected seven masks at the BAFTAS, four Golden Globes and eight Oscars including Best Director and Best Picture in 2009.
