Anydefinition.tv To Take Place In London

Next Generation Picture Monitoring and Tapeless Acquisition Workflow are the two themes that will be tackled at the Anydefinition.tv broadcast technology event, which takes place in London's Soho on May 24, 2011.
Anydefinition.tv events have developed a strong reputation for highlighting exciting new products and technologies. Previous events have often delivered industry firsts, for example 4K monitoring, and this year's event, sponsored by Oxygen DCT, Cinedeck and Penta, will be no exception.
The two key themes for Anydefinition.tv are Next Generation Picture Monitoring and Tapeless Acquisition Workflow.
Next Generation Picture Monitoring will explore the importance of assessing picture quality and identifying signal errors, particularly in light of the plethora of video file and data formats that broadcasters and post production facilities now have to contend with.
There will be monitor demonstrations from Penta, which is the number one European LCD monitor manufacturer with 26% market share in European OBs and the leading supplier of reference monitors to the UK's national and international broadcaster.
To support this, Anydefinition.tv will demonstrate the new 'panacea' for DI and Grading Suite monitoring using the latest 24" (colourist) and 47" (client) monitors. The event will also see the unveiling of Penta's new 10 bit LCD panels with 3 G/bs, 16 input signal processing and exceptionally high picture quality.
Tapeless Acquisition Workflow will explore ways of overcoming current difficulties with tape supply and look at methods to reduce the cost of acquisition and editing.
The demonstration will centre around the CineDeck Extreme tapeless 2K/HD-SDI recorder, which retails at £6,600 and incorporates onboard codecs that allow recording to take place in native edit formats, therefore saving time and money by negating the need for ingest and file transfers. Material can be shot in ProRes and HDnX formats as well as CineForm and uncompressed HD-SDI/2K and can be edited directly from the SSD drives. In a jungle of HD recorders, CineDeck Extreme is the only format independent field recorder and the most efficient and cost effective HD acquisition device ever produced.
Anydefinition.tv is a free event that is highly relevant to broadcasters and post production professionals. It will take place at the Revolution bar in St. Anne's Court, between Wardour Street and Dean Street, London from 11:30am to 7pm. Drinks and refreshments will be provided free of charge by the sponsors.
