Christie MicroTiles At VIII Krasnoyarsk Economy Forum

During the VIII Krasnoyarsk Economy Forum, which was held from 17th until 19th February, the latest display solutions, Christie MicroTiles modules, adorned the Rosneft Company stand.
The design and development of the stand for the biggest Russian Oil and Gas Company, Rosneft, was carried out by Global Events Production Company. MicroTiles content was developed by ETC Russia Company, part of the Global Events Group. VIATEK Company, a certified Christie service provider supplied the MicroTiles.
The video display system of Rosneft's stand had 51 MicroTiles units. They chose an unusual C-shape for the videowall. A single external control unit MicroTiles ECU was used for the multi-window image output.
Tatiana Churkina, Head of VIATEK Lease Department, said: "Christie MicroTiles display units are suitable for building video walls of unconventional shape and when tiled tightly they provide almost contiguous picture. The unique combination of DLP and LED technologies gives a clear and bright image, visible from any distance and at any angle."
The ability to use display modules flexibly is a significant feature of MicroTiles. The structure was incorporated into the interior of the stand and followed the wall curve.
Andrey Efarov, Technical Director of ETC Russia, shares the details of the content creation: "The C-shaped display consisted of 13 units across and 7 vertically. Only one ECU control unit was used, therefore the maximum MicroTiles screen image resolution was 1920x1080 pixels. To avoid the effects of image pixelisation (when applied to 13 modules with a true resolution of 9630 pixels), we reduced the number of modules upon which the prepared Full HD file was then superimposed. Therefore, we had a 9x7 unit display, fitting Full HD file proportions. The space of a further four units above and below were built into the available space of the file."
Flexibility in content operation is another key feature of MicroTiles, as noted by Andrey Efarov: "We have found Physical mapping (manual placing of the module on the prepared content field) extremely useful and helpful."
Tatiana Churkina added: "MicroTiles video display systems have plenty of usage options: from the videowalls in event centres to create exclusive promotional and exhibition stands; and we are proud that we can demonstrate this by examples of events at such a high level."
