Paragon to Provide Trade-Only Hire Of MicroTiles
Christie's innovative MicroTiles are to be made available to trade customers from hire specialists, Paragon Projection Ltd.
Paragon has depots strategically situated across the UK including Central London, the Midlands and Livingston, Scotland, enabling the company to service AV and multimedia companies nationwide.
"We were first introduced to MicroTiles at Christie’s [EMEA HQ] last year, but it was seeing them at the ISE Show in Amsterdam followed by Screen Media Expo in London that delivered the wow factor," said Paragon Sales Manager, Mark Davies. "Seeing them in a stand context, they looked really impressive."
What prompted the purchase of an initial batch of fifty tiles was the fact that Paragon see exhibition stands, along with conferences, as being key markets.
At the same time they recognised that with such a small, lightweight and flexible design, all rental customers, whatever their experience, would find the speed and ease of set up and plug and play functionality a winning combination.
Established in 1999, Paragon Projection has a lot of experience within the company, and their rental fleet contains a range of displays, including plasmas and LCD's (in addition to laptops and IT equipment).
"We assessed the market for MicroTiles over a six month period, but the impact of them had hit us straight away," admitted Mark. "Having the backing of such a major manufacturer as Christie gave us all the confidence we needed.
"We had also just taken on a new video-wall so we were interested to make the comparison. But MicroTiles is so different, the way various shapes can be constructed, and the freedom that offers designers, is impressive; the concept seems to have been very well thought through."
Mark also highlighted MicroTiles' ease of use and continuous self-calibration of colour and brightness as further plus points, while its front servicing will save hours on location in the event of module failure. Aside from that Paragon has noticed the system's compact size and durability, and risk-free from the glass breakage generally associated with tiled screens.
"Finally, we have seen that even from a distance of half a metre away the image is still crystal clear."
