A 'Matter Of Record' For NI

The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) will reopen later this month at the new headquarters at Titanic Quarter.
The new headquarters were made possible when the Stormont Executive invested almost £30m in the construction of a new purpose-built record office.
Director of PRONI, Aileen McClintock said: "Opening two months ahead of schedule is an outstanding achievement, as the move included the removal and relocation of over 40km of unique and irreplaceable documents.
"This reflects the careful planning, dedication and hard work of PRONI staff and our partners.
"The new record office provides greater space, more modern facilities and coupled with our fantastic web-based resources, will enhance the visitor experience and increase awareness of Northern Ireland’s archival cultural heritage," she said.
The new state-of-the-art building will open its doors on 30 March to the public for the first time and customers new and old are invited to come along and view the new building and facilities.
