EVS Unveils Xedio Flash

News Image
EVS has introduced Xedio Flash, an integrated hardware and software system offering all-in-one newsroom capabilities.
The new package will be featured at the NAB show in Las Vegas and will be demonstrated at the EVS stand C9508 (Central Hall).
Xedio Flash is the latest turnkey newsroom system, an element of EVS news and broadcast production solutions. This all-in-one production package is designed for small and regional newscasters looking for a plug & play tool kit for their tapeless news operations.
The new system, based on EVS Xedio technology, is optimised for production speed and hassle-free integration with third-party systems.
The entire newsroom production workflow fits into a single rack and includes two encoders for a news feed ingest, ENG file import facilities , five Xedio CleanEdit advanced timeline editor licences, an 18TB central storage along with media management and two Xedio players for instant playout without rendering. The basis configuration is easily scalable for more capacity.
Robert Bury, Xedio Business Unit Manager at EVS, commented: "Our aim with the introduction of Xedio Flash was to answer the requirements of numbers of mid-range newsrooms seeking for simple and efficient ways to speed up and secure their news production operations in a full tapeless environment."
Bury continued: "Xedio Flash is combining the best of broadcast and IT technologies into a 16RU rack; including ingest, production, editing, storage and playout. Xedio Flash is a real plug and play system that offers an exceptional level of speed and workflow control."
Xedio Flash's open architecture guarantees easy integration with craft editors such as Avid Media Composer and Apple FCP as well as with any existing NCRS systems. Fully format-agnostic, Xedio Flash is the ideal platform for multi-format Long GOP (including XDCAM, MPEG-2), I-Frame (including Avid DNxHD, DVCPR50 or HD) SD/HD operations.
