Top Industry Figures For IABM

The organisation that represents an authoritative voice for the broadcast and media technology supply industry worldwide, the International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM) is hosting a conference.
It will feature an impressive array of speakers from media, technology, and consulting companies such as Yahoo, IBM, Screen Digest, Turner Broadcasting, and the MacLeod Report.
With the theme Strategies for Growth - Responding to the New Paradigm, the conference will take place Dec. 2-3 at the Savill Court Hotel in Windsor Great Park.
Highlighting the first day of the conference on Thursday, Dec. 2, will be a keynote session, The Personalization of Television, presented by Shirlene Chandrapal, Director of Business Development for Yahoo Connected TV.
A panel discussion entitled Internet and the Three-Screen World Killed the Broadcast Star, will include Ms Chandrapal as well as John Ive, Director of Business Development and Technology for the IABM; Jim Bottoms, co-founder of Futuresource; William Cooper, founder of informitv; and Daniel Toole of Agon Consulting. Another Thursday highlight will be Sizing the Business, presented by Tom Morrod, a senior analyst for Screen Digest.
On Friday, the conference will feature a keynote session, Managing Human Assets, by industry-leading consultant David MacLeod, co-author of the MacLeod Report.
Also headlining Friday's line-up is a panel discussion, Production and Distribution Workflows: What's Next?, featuring Lesley Marr, Senior Director of Operations for ITFC; Stan Moote, Vice President of Business Development for Harris Broadcast; Clyde Smith of (global broadcast technology and standards) for Turner Broadcasting System and Dominic Stone, a broadcast solutions executive at IBM.
"In planning this year's conference, we made sure that the speakers would represent the full spectrum of the broadcasting industry - from equipment manufacturers and technology providers to end users, industry research firms, integrators, and consultants," said Peter White, Director General of the IABM.
"With such a notable collection of speakers, there will be something at the conference for everyone. Our goal is that attendees will come away with an understanding of today's broadcasting climate that is as broad as it is in-depth."
The 2010 IABM Conference is sponsored by IBC, TVBEurope, Bridge Technologies, Bubble & Squeak, Caspian:one, Effectivus, and Whiteoaks.
