Iambic Media Measures Success With New Divisions Based In London And Scotland
Award-winning independent production company Iambic Media, run by ex-DCD Media CEO Chris Hunt, has announced the launch of two new divisions Iambic Entertainment and Iambic Scotland.
The new divisions will enable the company to develop its output in the areas of entertainment and factual programming while also continuing to build on its reputation in arts and culture.
Iain Thompson has been appointed Creative Director, heading up Iambic Entertainment in London. Thompson has series produced and directed programming for UK and international organisations including BBC, Lionsgate, Endemol and ITV Studios on series such as Fearne And…, Paris Hilton's BFF, Paris Hilton's British Best Friend, I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and The Parent Trip, as well major one-off events including Soccer Aid, Rod Stewart - One Night Only, Comic Relief and in Afghanistan for The Pride of Britain Awards.
Iambic Entertainment will drive forward the company's ambitions to expand into the areas of fact-end, factual and entertainment programming. In particular, the company is looking to build on Thompson's highly-regarded reputation for working with celebrities such as Robbie Williams, Ant and Dec, James Nesbitt, Fearne Cotton and Paris Hilton to deliver talent-led formats and programming.
The creation of Iambic Scotland follows Iambic Media's recent acquisition of Highland-based production company Muckrach Media set up in 2008 by producers Andy Picheta (Executive Producer) and Rebecca Ferrand (Producer). Iambic Scotland will build on the company's arts and cultural output particularly in Scotland overseen by former Muckrach Media owners Picheta and Ferrand.
Chris Hunt, CEO and Iambic Media, said: "These are heady times for Iambic. We are delighted to be joined by two first-rate teams, both led by great talents whom we have known for several years and who make an excellent fit with our existing operations. Iambic has bucked the trend by having a couple of very successful years and these developments will increase our range of output and create exciting opportunities."
Iain Thompson, Creative Director, Iambic Entertainment, said: "I've a huge respect for Chris and his success in both film and TV production and I'm excited we have found a way to work together on new factual entertainment projects in this ever changing climate. Together with our established relationships I am confident we can create unique productions that put talent at the core."
Andy Picheta, Executive Producer, Iambic Scotland, added: "As part of the Iambic group, we can now bring top flight talent to Scottish productions, enabling us to make a positive contribution to the development of TV production in the Highlands. We also gain clout to pitch suitable local and regional projects at a meaningful level."
Chris Hunt also heads up media fund Limelight Media LLP, which has in the last six months allocated over £10 million to film, new media and television projects in gap funding or distribution advances.
