Peel Media Respond To BBC MediaCityUK Announcement

Developer's of MediaCityUK, have responded to the BBC's recent announcements about the move of BBC Breakfast and the re-location of an extra 113 BBC employees from London to Salford Quays.
MediaCityUK will be a vibrant community of workers, residents, students and visitors, developed and managed by Peel Media, a division of the Peel Group,
Sinead Greenaway, Chief Executive Officer at Peel Media said: "We at Peel Media are delighted that BBC Breakfast will be joining us here at MediaCityUK. They bring informative news and features to millions of viewers across the UK each weekday morning and we are pleased that this established network show will broadcast live from Salford Quays."
Sinead added: "This news has been heightened by the announcement that 118 roles from Marketing, Communications & Audiences (MC&A) and Future Media & Technology (FM&T) will be moving here and that an additional two comedy shows will be commissioned from MediaCityUK by 2012/13. This news is testimony to the BBC's commitment to make their new home here at MediaCityUK a success."
MediaCityUK will staff 2,500 from 2011. The University of Salford have also committed to a new higher education centre at the MediaCity location, which will accommodate up to 1,500 students and staff.
At the centre of MediaCityUK is one of Europe’s biggest high definition studio complexes with a state-of-the-art communications infrastructure.
