Major Avid Upgrade For Reelgood 



Dublin based facility Reelgood has made a significant investment in the upgrade of its Avid technology to facilitate an increasing workload and the demands of HD production.
Working with Tyrell CCT, the facility has upgraded all of their edit suites to Media Composer V5, taking advantage of the latest features including support for tapeless media, stereoscopic workflows and real-time HD editing. They also replaced existing Avid Adrenaline systems with two Media Composer Nitris DX HD editing systems.
As part of this investment Reelgood moved from an Ethernet based Lanshare EX storage system to a 16TB Avid Unity MediaNetwork V5 connected on a high-speed fibre channel infrastructure, providing greatly improved workflow efficiencies and increased storage capacity. The facility also upgraded all of their workstations to the latest HP Z400 series combining 64 bit computing power and Windows 7 operating system.
Reelgood also added a Cache-A LTO archive drive to for the secure and easy back-up of media content. Established in 1986 Reelgood is a leading Irish production and post production facility with eight Avid edit suites, two sound studios a 2D and 3D graphics department. Tyrell CCT has provided solutions and technical support to Reelgood for over ten years.
