BBC On Board With Salford Film Festival

Lights, camera, action! BBC North has announced it is backing the seventh annual Salford Film Festival, the leading regional celebration of all things cinematic.
BBC North has endorsed the festival and is leading a series of interactive workshops as well as the inaugural BBC North and Salford Film Festival Lecture.
Peter Salmon, Director of BBC North, said: "BBC North is delighted to be working with Salford Film Festival to deliver a series of exciting events and opportunities for Salford and Greater Manchester residents and everyone attending the festival."
The festival, which hits the silver screen from 11th -14th November, promises to be the biggest yet with a raft of screenings, premiers, workshops, seminars, exhibitions, competitions and community projects. Events will take place at The Lowry, Vue Cinema Salford and various venues throughout Salford and Manchester.
Salford is a hotbed of creative excellence, a fact further endorsed by the arrival of MediaCityUK.
Michael Knowles, Co-Founder of the Salford Film Festival and Co-Producer of A Boy called Dad (currently on release in UK cinemas), said: "Securing the BBC as a major partner is fantastic news for the festival, Salford and Manchester as a whole. The festival is launching its high profile sponsorship programme to offer businesses and organisations the opportunity to be official partners of the 2010 event. This year's sponsorship programme includes a comprehensive range of commercial and creative opportunities allowing regional companies to celebrate cinematic talent and give something back to the community.
