Abit And Miranda Continue The Evolution

A playout automation specialist has announced that it has continued the evolution of its sophisticated control interface with Miranda's range of channel branding equipment.
Abit's Present-it automation system offers rich integration with the Imagestore 750, Intuition XG and LGK-3901 channel branding processors, allowing playout of the full breadth of advanced HD/SD graphics effects.
"Automation systems are now required to manage both SD and HD content and this includes non-programme material like logos for example," explained Rob Leishman, Marketing manager at Abit.
"To ensure that the material is broadcast in the correct format and with the correctly positioned logo, the automation system needs to handle the Active Format Description (AFD) capability of these devices in broadcaster's overall day-to-day workflow."
The Abit Present-it automation system's top-down framework design allows it to be integrated with any peripheral device along with the increase in different types of material. "This means necessary changes, additions or interfaces to new equipment can be created simply, making the system particularly flexible and ready to integrate with both legacy and future hardware and software," continued Leishman.
"Most importantly, this protects broadcasters' investment in automation over the long term."
